"After 45 years apart, six Sefton High legends reunited—and where better to stir up old memories than Tai Pak, where the soy sauce flows and the laughter echoes louder than the sizzling woks. The food? Let’s just say it was so good we briefly considered enrolling in culinary school just to figure out how they did it. Every dish was a nostalgic hug to the taste buds. And then came the fried ice cream—crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and 100% responsible for our collective sugar-induced flashbacks to Year 10 socials. Special mention to Terry’s cup, which none of us understood but all of us applauded. It was mysterious, majestic, and possibly magical. We’re still not sure if it was a drink, a dessert, or a portal to another dimension—but it was a treat. The staff were absolute gems—friendly, patient, and clearly trained in crowd control for rowdy reunions. They smiled through our bad jokes, tolerated our photo ops, and even laughed at our “remember when” stories like they’d lived them too. We came for the food, stayed for the memories, and left with full bellies and sore cheeks from laughing. Tai Pak didn’t just serve dinner—they served up joy, nostalgia, and a reminder that good friends and good food are the ultimate combo."
"Best Chinese joint in the Greater Bankstown area. Fresh vegetables, astounding flavours, distinctive individual meals, 3rd generation genuine family business. The grandfather is still in the kitchen cooking. Definitely not upmarket but you will often hear locals boasting that they have been going there for 20 or 30 years. Currently Joanne is managing the shop and will often be chatting feverishly to customers at tables. Trust me, you will go back after your 1st visit. Best Chinese new year celebrations outside of Chinatown if your lucky enough to score a table. Do it!!!"
"Where do I even start. The food here is SPECTACULAR! It is absolutely delicious. There is such great flavour and it is cooked very well. Not to mention such great pricing for these delicious meals. It is a quiet little joint that is great for dining in. The staff are also very attentive and polite. Overall, I would 100% recommend. :)"
"Been there often, the food is really good and the portions ample. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Very reasonably priced. Will go again next time I’m in the area"
"Truly awesome food highly recommended we had the shadow beef and sate pork fillet with chicken corn soup and curry puffs"
"this restaurant wins best Asian (not just Chinese) food in all fronts. I'll never go to any other Chinese restaurant because I know it won't be as good. I even asked the owner to marry me cause I thought she was the cook, the food was that good :-) The staff was also very nice and welcoming. I can't believe I lived in the area for 30 years and never been here."
"Chinese foods - SEA style ! We've tried $30 banquet and got enough foods including the tasty sang chow bow, sizzling chicken, lamb, fried rice followed by fried ice cream. Most were good but the lamb was very salty. This was a Vietnamese style Chinese, so overall colour of foods were rather dark lacking veggies and colour. Nevertheless the service was good, and locals seemed to like it."
"I decided to dine at tai Pak one night and I was warmly greeted by the staff. The food great and so was the service. The manager, Joanna was a very eccentric and generous person. Make sure to bring your families here as it has such a warm and friendly environment."
